Austin 1300 Panda

Launched alongside the new Austin/Morris 1100 MK2, the Austin 1300 MK2 came in 2 door, 4door saloon and Countryman (estate car) versions as on the previous 1100 Mk1 model. Powered by a 1275cc variant of the A-series engine the standard 1300's had improved performance making this small family car even better than before.

The phrase panda car refers to a small or medium-sized police car, used for ordinary patrol work, with larger and more powerful vehicles being used for emergency response, road policing duties and as armed response vehicles.
